Randstad C&P are currently recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager to work on various commercial schemes in Southampton with a leading contractor. These projects will involve working the the education, healthcare, refurbishment and new build sectors. For this position candidates MUST have some experience working within the commercial build sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Site Manager to support the successful delivery of various commercial construction projects within the Southampton region.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of site-specific plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Support the Site Manager in resolving technical queries, resolving conflicts, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in overseeing day-to-day site operations, including subcontractor coordination, materials management, and site safety.
  • Monitor project progress against schedule and budget, identifying and addressing any issues or delays in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a construction-related role, ideally within commercial construction projects.
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, construction practices, and relevant industry standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management software.
