Our client is searching for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will work closely with senior members of the team, supporting them in delivering quantity surveying services to a number of clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development within a reputable consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
  • Conduct thorough site visits and inspections to gather essential data for project evaluations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
  • Analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
  • Assist in the procurement process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
  • Monitor project progress and financial performance, highlighting any deviations from the budget or schedule.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and cost forecasts for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance professional knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate would have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drawings accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant quantity surveying software.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
