We are currently collaborating with a leading principal contractor in Cambridge, recognized for its extensive portfolio encompassing diverse projects across sectors such as new build, retail, offices, education, and healthcare.

Role Overview:
We are in search of a proficient Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our client's dynamic team in Cambridge. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring project success by efficiently managing costs and providing commercial expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cost estimation, planning, and control throughout project lifecycle.
  • Procuring and managing subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Providing accurate financial reporting and analysis for decision-making.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost optimization and enhancing project profitability.
  • Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably with a principal contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £50,544.93-£60,581.99 per year
