Assistant Payroll Manager

Location - Gatwick, Crawley

Salary - £38,000 to £49,000 per annum

We have an amazing opportunity in Gatwick for an Assistant Payroll Manager to work for one of our clients. Our client is one of the UK's leading accounting firms with an excellent reputation. In this role, you will be working full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Processing staff starting and returning from maternity leave
  • Updating sickness reports
  • Processing leavers
  • Calculating adjustments required, including pro-rata calculations
  • Completing end-of-period payroll reporting for review by the payroll manager
  • Supervise the Payroll Administrators and Payroll Support Administrator to ensure their work is up to date, and support with training where required
  • Support in the delivery of an accurate payroll by importing and reconciling uplifts to salaries and various benefits the company offers
  • Liaising with our pension team to balance the pension contributions each payroll period
  • Support the Payroll Manager with the submission of HMRC RTI reporting
  • Support the Payroll Manager with the payment of Taxes at the end of each payroll period and the payment of Class 1A NICs in respect of Benefits in Kind
  • Produce and reconcile reports at the end of each payroll period for stakeholders
  • Complete P11D reporting and childcare voucher assessments annually
  • Creating and sending BACS files
  • Importing new starters to the payroll
  • Importing salary and cash allowances, and reconciling values with Human Resources reports
  • Supporting team members with day-to-day queries
  • Other duties as deemed reasonable

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of supervising a team
  • Experience processing large payroll
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of in-house payroll experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent team player
