Assistant Financial Controller

A market leading international manufacturing group with offices near Colchester, Essex has an opportunity for a qualified accountant to join them as Assistant Financial Controller, working on a hybrid basis.
Your new role
The Assistant Financial Controller will report to the Financial Controller and work closely with the General Manager and have responsibility for:
The delivery of accurate and complete monthly financial information
Provide insight and analysis into the key business drivers; productivity, costing, stock, sales, pricing and margin.
Assist with the annual audit and year-end reporting
Maintain fixed asset register
Have responsibility for the management and development of the costing and stock reporting systems
General ledger management
Capital reporting and forecasting
Cashflow Reporting
Working Capital Reporting
Provide assistance with budgeting and forecasting
Review and development of processes and controls
Perform Internal Audit and liaise with external Auditors
VAT returns and annual Tax returns
Intercompany reconciliations and monthly Controls
Liaise with Banks, Auditors and other external organisations as required

What you'll need to succeed
The Assistant Financial Controller will be a qualified Accountant or near completion of their professional studies; ACCA, CIMA and have experience within the commercial/industrial sector; manufacturing experience is beneficial.
IT Skills: ERP and intermediate/advanced Excel with the ability to work with data
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels
Statutory reporting
Costing and stock reporting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

What you'll get in return
The Assistant Financial Controller will be offered a highly competitive salary package in the region of £50,000 to £60,000 plus benefits, which include: 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, pension and flexible benefits. The business works on a hybrid basis after a probationary period, 3 days' office and 2 days' work from home.
