Assistant Finance Manager

I’m delighted to be supporting a Services based business with the recruitment of an Assistant Finance Manager to join their rapidly expanding UK team. With a modern approach and significant plans for growth and investment, my client is in an enviable position in the local market.

The role

• The Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting in the management of day-to-day accounting services in the specific service line to ensure that the team consistently meet deadlines and provide a first class and highly professional service at all times.
• Helping to develop an internal Centre of Excellence for the wider Group and promoting a positive image of the business with external clients.
• To oversee resource planning for team members and to participate in accounting related projects.
• To manage, supervise and develop team members, maintain, and develop relationships with the team’s clients.
• To deputise for the Manager during absence, and to support them when required to fulfil the team’s roles and responsibilities.

About you

• We’re looking for a fully qualified (ACA / ACCA) Accountant with a minimum of 4 years’ practical accounting work experience.
• Direct experience of producing financial statements for a variety of entities is essential as is experience of developing and coaching others in a team environment.
• Candidates should offer experience of exceptional client service and a good understanding and knowledge of current accounting legislation, regulation and working practices to include IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Experience in a financial services environment or professional practice is required and knowledge of UK VAT very desirable.
• A strong commitment to client service excellence and a proactive and disciplined approach to work is essential as is a results driven approach.
