Assistant Branch Manager
We are retained by a leading and long-established Timber Merchant who due to expansion is seeking an experienced, professional Assistant Branch Manager. The role will require an ambitious individual who will work closely with the Branch Manager in promoting and developing this already existing Branch. This is a fantastic opportunity for a career-driven individual who will play a vital role in the launch of this new Branch continually looking on ways of improving procedures and driving the Depot forward.
Reporting to: Branch Manager
You will assist the Branch Manager in developing and manage the Depot and provide the highest levels of customer services, to maximise sales and profitability, you will lead, motivate, and support your team
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Branch Manager to ensure all targets are met
- Ensure Depot is compliant with all Health & Safety
- Support, motivate, coach, and help raise the performance standards of your team
- Understanding customer needs and requirements, research accounts, identifying key players
- Build both supplier and customer relationships to improve the sales and margin capability of the Depot
- Ensure all sales orders, follow-up sales enquiries and delivery schedules and done quickly and efficiently
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Timber / Builders Merchants in a managerial or supervisory position
- Experience within the building supply trade essential
- General Construction knowledge essential & knowledge of the Construction sector
- Excellent people management skills self motivated with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision
- Experience of Team Building
- Effective communication skills
- Customer-focused with sound commercial skills.
- Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook
