Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Job type: Permanent, Full time/ Part time, Office based

Location: Derby, DE1

Work Pattern: Fulltime 37.5 hours / Part time 16-20 hours (No weekends)

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 pro-rata (DOE)

A wonderful opportunity to join a well-established, family-owned accountancy firm in Derby as an Assistant Accountant. With various duties, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the accountant with accounts preparation for a multitude of clients ranging from Sole traders to SME’s. Offering a salary of up to £30,000, applicants must have a clear understanding of accounts and a proven track record in a similar role. Must have UK experience.

Duties:

  • Accounts preparation for a portfolio of up to 300 clients
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with budgeting for companies
  • Managing company ledgers
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of invoices, billings, and ledgers
  • Completing financial reports and reporting back to finance team
  • Assisting and supporting the company accountant with ad-hoc duties

Person Specification:

  • Must be AAT Qualified or similar
  • Will consider those qualified by experience
  • Knowledge of Xero & QuickBooks
  • Show a clear track record in a similar position
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team
  • Self-motivated and target driven
