MacKenzie King are recruiting an Assistant Accountant for a successful and thriving haulage business, based on the outskirts of Ipswich. As an Assistant Accountant you will provide support to the Finance Director who will act as a mentor to develop your skill set through to the production of management accounts. This opportunity will be great for a studier looking to further their knowledge and the business are happy to support studies (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).

Duties & Responsibilties:

  • Accounts payable processing
  • Accounts Receivable processing
  • Credit control
  • Banking
  • Payroll
  • Cashflow
  • Weekly Profit Reporting & Fuel Monitoring
  • Quarterly VAT Returns
  • Reconciling monthly P32 report and agreeing PAYE Payment
  • Adhoc Accounts & Administration projects and duties as required
  • Assisting with Management Accounts
  • Assisting with month end reporting

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Minimum AAT level 2 qualification is essential
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel (Pivot tables/VLookups)
  • Experience on Sage would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organised with a keen attention to detail
  • Team player attitude
