ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the NG3 area who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work with a group of autistic pupils across KS1 and KS2. This role is full time and will be on a contracted basis until July 2024.
The role will begin as soon as possible and the hours of work will be 08:30-15:30
The school are looking for someone who:
- Has at least one years' experience working with autistic children
- Has previously worked in a school environment
- Can build relationships with children
- Is an effective communicator
- Can engage children with academic lessons
The main duties in this role will be:
- Providing in class support to children with autism
- Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
- Liaising with the school SENCO around progress of the pupils
- Working on a 1:1 basis with children out of class
