Area Sales Manager | up to £63,000 w Car (approx. 7K) + Bonus) | Electrics Wholesaler | Anglia + East Mids | Field Sales

Gleeson Recruitment are partnering with a national electrics wholesaler to recruit a result driven Area Sales Manager to lead a team in driving growth and profitability within the Anglia region.

As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing new customer acquisition, retention of existing business, and the expansion of their product range through effective sales strategies and team management. This role holds responsibility for a multi-million-pound budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the growth of new customer acquisition and retention of existing business within the area.
  • Increase sales from stock and the number of SKU's sold through the Area sales executives.
  • Drive profitable sales growth through external sales executives by actively managing portfolio management and sales activities.
  • Ensure alignment between the external sales force and the branch network.
  • Implement and manage the use of CRM tool (Vecta) for effective recording of visits and follow-up activities.
  • Manage a dedicated customer portfolio through a team of sales executives, focusing on sales growth and margin improvement.
  • Develop and execute sales plans and visit schedules for both personal and sales executive portfolios.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support quotations process and drive multichannel adoption.
  • Develop and deploy area sales and pricing strategies to meet and exceed targets.
  • Provide strong leadership to the external sales teams, defining objectives and driving capability through recruitment, development, and performance management.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and welfare standards within the area team.

Desirables:

  • Demonstrable track record of P&L ownership and growth.
  • Experience in managing a professional sales team, with remote management experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in selling and developing portfolios within the relevant sector, with a proven track record of achieving financial objectives.
  • Competent level of English and Maths to interpret budgets and produce business documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based packages, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Familiarity with sales tools such as Vecta and RBI.
  • Driving licence and flexibility to travel within the area.
