The Role:

An unusual opportunity to work as a Pet Trade Area Sales Manager on a 4 day per week basis covering the Midlands and North Wales territories has become available within this global leader!

Due to promotion, my client is looking for another high performing field sales professional to join their confident and experienced sales team during an exciting chapter of company growth and development.

You will be responsible for representing the business within your designated territory in all aspects of B2B sales by promoting and delivering first rate pet products and exceptional service to customers.

Specific Duties Will Include:

  • Managing an existing portfolio of clients, working to achieve agreed sales targets.
  • Building long term effective relationships with customers in order to deliver continuous, profitable sales growth.
  • Focussing on maximising customer acquisition and retention within your territory.
  • Identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities through new and existing channels.
  • Producing accurate weekly/monthly reports and sales forecasts.
  • Achieving set sales targets.
  • Identifying a supporting merchandising solutions and marketing materials.
  • Regularly updating customers with information and promotion details.
  • Analysing customer purchase profiles.
  • Demonstrating products for customers.
  • Identifying new business and new account opportunities.

The Person:

In order to be considered for the role of Area Sales Manager, you must possess the following:

  • Happy to work 4 days per week (Mon - Thurs).
  • A successful track record in either B2B fields sales (ideally pet trade|) or managerial level within pet retail.
  • Ideally a good knowledge of cat and dog nutrition.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Confident in developing commercial negotiations.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • A willingness to travel on a daily basis.
  • Happy to attend tradeshows and exhibitions when required.
  • Live within a commutable distance to Birmingham/The Midlands.

The Benefits:

  • The job holder will enjoy a basic salary of up to £37,500 pro rata (equivalent is up to £30,000 p.a for 4 days). Company car, bonus, contributory pension 5%/7%, Life Assurance, Private Medical Care.
