About the opportunity...

We are a successful, growing, award-winning retailer. As we expand our business even further, we are looking for experienced Area Managers passionate about all things retail and the  customer journey.  You will lead and support our stores to deliver the highest possible standards. You will be a commercial/people leader and, in turn, have the autonomy to manage our business to get the right results.

As an Area Manager, you will report into a Regional Manager and lead around 18 - 23 Stores in your area. At Poundland & Dealz, no two days are the same, which brings exciting challenges along the way. Our business is perfect for you to make an impact, and you will play a pivotal role in the future of Poundland & Dealz.

What you'll be doing...
  • Coaching and Leading your teams through periods of change
  • Implementing robust succession plans to develop future leaders
  • identifying and nurturing the very best talent to create a “high performing” team
  • Analysing Area performance and developing strategies to drive people/sales metrics
  • Ensuring customer service is embedded and is the driver for all colleague behaviours to create an outstanding in-store customer experience
  • Identifying and developing commercial action plans that drive sales and service
  • Reviewing underperforming stores and developing strategies to address performance
About You....

You will have experience in the following:

  • Leading and managing operational teams in a multi-site retail environment
  • Delivering sales targets within a dynamic environment
  • A proven record of accomplishment in implementing business plans and driving compliance
  • Leading teams through significant changes
  • Working knowledge of current employment practices
  • Computer literate with a basic level of Excel
  • Experience in presenting and influencing senior teams
