Our client is looking for an Architectural Technician, who will play a key role in the design and construction process. Working closely with other architects, engineers, and project managers, they will contribute to the development of high-quality residential properties with a Major Housebuilder in the North East.

The primary roles and responsibilities of the role would be as follows:

  1. Collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to develop design concepts and technical drawings for residential developments.
  2. Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using CAD software.
  3. Ensure that designs comply with relevant building regulations, planning policies, and industry standards.
  4. Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and gather necessary information for design development.
  5. Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and building control approvals.
  6. Work closely with project managers and construction teams to address design-related issues and provide technical support during the construction phase.
  7. Maintain accurate documentation and records of project-related information, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  8. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in architecture and construction.

Requirements:

  1. Degree or HND/HNC in Architectural Technology or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as an Architectural Technician within the residential construction industry or architectural practice.
  3. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other relevant design tools.
  4. Strong understanding of building regulations, planning policies, and construction methods.
  5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  6. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in technical drawings and documentation.
