Applications Scientist - Analytical Spectroscopy

Our client is currently seeking an experienced scientist proficient in chemometrics and analytical spectroscopy to join their team. As an Applications Scientist, the candidate will serve as the primary technical liaison for sales and marketing, providing expertise and product demonstrations in both pre- and post-sale scenarios. Additionally, the candidate will play a key role in the development of collateral materials such as data sheets, manuals, and product literature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical expert and interface between sales/marketing teams and customers.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers with varying levels of expertise.
  • Contribute significantly to the development of collateral materials, ensuring accuracy and clarity of technical content.
  • Engage with R&D scientists, engineers, and non-technical customers to address inquiries and provide solutions.
  • Apply scientific knowledge to assist existing users in optimizing instrument performance and applications.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written technical communication.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • PhD or equivalent in chemistry or a related discipline, with practical experience in optical spectroscopy, particularly Raman, IR, and NIR.
  • Previous experience as an application scientist within the analytical instrument market.
  • Direct experience in pharmaceutical or related industries is highly desirable.

Desired Skills:

Proficiency in spectroscopy techniques.

Strong background in materials science.

Familiarity with optical spectroscopy methods, including Raman, IR, and NIR.

Candidates must be currently residing in the UK and eligible to work in order to apply for this position.
