We are currently working with Croydon Health Services, looking for a skilled Anatomical Pathology Technologist, for an initial 6 week posting at Croydon University Hospital.

This is a Band 5, full time role, 37.5 hours a week.

You will be required in the role to run a mortuary and post mortem service. To engage in all aspects of the technical work of the autopsy room. to set up and operate a range of mortuary equipment. To transfer the deceased. to maintain records. To dispose of clinical waste. To prepare the deceased for formal identification. to work as part of a team and participate in an on-call rota.

Required Skills:

  • HTA Licence upkeeping
  • Computer Literate
  • Good verbal communication
  • Sensitivity, Tactful and Diplomatic
  • Supervision
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence

Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Knowledge of tissue and organ retrieval
  • Current Mortuary practices including High Risk Post Mortems, Coroners Post Mortems and Forensic Post Mortems
  • Documentation required after death
  • Best practice set out by the RCPath

Education & Qualifications:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Anatomical Pathology, Technology or extensive experience carrying out the duties of an anatomical pathology technician.
