A superb opportunity has arisen for an Employment Law Paralegal to join AltraLaw, the UK’s First Not-For-Profit Law Firm. The Firm is based at Welsh ICE, a thriving entrepreneurial hub in Caerphilly, 5 minutes from Cardiff. This award-winning Firm is recognised for its employment law expertise and social conscience in its provision of legal services. The successful candidate can expect to be closely supervised and mentored by a leading employment law expert widely recognised within the sector and in legal directories.

This is a superb opportunity for an ambitious Law Graduate, LPC Graduate, existing Legal Assistant or Paralegal with a view to a Training Contract!

The Legal Assistant will be responsible for undertaking key tasks on a diverse range of high profile and high value employment law matters, acting for individuals. Such cases include, but are not limited to, discrimination and whistle blowing cases and negotiation of severance packages for senior executives. In addition, the successful candidate will carry out administrative tasks such as fielding new client enquiries, dealing with and progressing client matters and file management. The Legal Assistant will also undertake some marketing activities including involvement in the Firm’s social media presence and marketing campaigns.

Previous employment law experience is desirable. What is essential is a passion for helping people, a strong ethical approach to business and a firmly rooted moral compass. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn and progress, exceptional problem solving skills, emotional intelligence and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, fun and intellectually challenging workplace.

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Proven pro-bono or Charitable ethics.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Highly IT-literate with skills in word, excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage social media platforms & website CMS effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
