This role sits within the Specialist Portfolio Solutions team which seeks to help investors access our best thinking and implementation when it comes to investment funds and strategies.  Your primary responsibility  is to grow our global client base in a strategically important area of the Investment business.  We offer solutions across the full range of listed and private markets, all structured to give investors the best chance of meeting their strategic investment goals.

As an Alternative Investments Sales - Product Specialist, you will own the sales outcomes for your asset class solutions. You will be responsible for building and executing a distribution strategy (covering marketing and prospecting activity), determining priority regions and markets for your solutions, and building relationships with regional sales teams and stakeholders to deliver on your growth objectives. 

You will be supported by a team of Portfolio Specialists and Analysts as well as a team of client service specialists ensuring you can focus on delivering the required growth in your solutions. There is a huge amount of support available to help you learn about our business and apply your skills and experience to our solutions and client portfolios.

The Role

Sales and clients
  • You will lead the team of Specialists and Analysts working on your Solutions, directing work flow and ensuring efficient use of resources
  • You will be responsible for developing and executing on your distribution strategy and ensuring this evolves to reflect changing priorities and market conditions. You will be responsible for tracking activity and how that leads to additional sales opportunities. 
  • You will own the market positioning and messaging for your Investment Solutions ensuring this has the maximum impact in your priority regions. 
  • You will have significant input and influence into our marketing efforts across the globe, prioritizing sales channels and the marketing strategy in relevant solutions. You will be required to input into regional sales strategies as it relates to your solutions and ensuring the appropriate sales resource is being applied  
  • You will own and be responsible for your solution specific pipeline and generating the activity to support the sales goal.
  • You will support the overall SPS leaders on product initiatives and development and work with the Product team on developing these and taking them to market (messaging, roadshows, content etc)
  • You will lead sales proposals for both internal and external use and help the regional teams manage complex stakeholder sales processes.
  • You will be required to build relationships with clients and prospects 


People
  • You will be introduced to colleagues and external third parties and the role will require you to be able to build strong networks internally in the Investment business and to collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams. A strong track record in relationship building is required. 
  • The Specialist Portfolio Solutions team is a key growth area for the business so we are looking for candidates with experience and track record  in sales/marketing and the ability to gain a commercial understanding of the attractiveness of our investment solutions relative to the broader market.
  • You will work in a very collaborative team and can learn from industry experts, to develop your own skills as well as providing support to more junior colleagues across the business.
  • CFA qualifications preferred.


The Requirements
  • Strong desire to build relationships with colleagues, clients and prospects and contribute to growing our business.
  • Investment management or asset management experience is required. 
  • A preference for experience of sales, marketing and content creation (including investment writing) to open conversations. 
  • A growth mindset, adaptability, self-discipline, and strong organizational skills are a must.
  • Experience managing a pipeline and towards sales goals is preferred. 
  • The MS Office suite is used daily so experience working with these programs is beneficial, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • MS Dynamics skills are preferred.
