Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Required:

Engage Education are working with a Primary school in Leeds (LS13) that are currently recruiting for a HLTA to work on a long basis, 5 days per week. You will be Teaching/Supporting throughout KS1/KS2. If you are an ECT that wants to get your foot in the door and grow your confidence before committing to a full remit teaching role, this will be a perfect opportunity.

Position Overview:

Higher level teaching assistants (HLTAs) do all the things that regular teaching assistants do but they have an increased level of responsibility. For example HLTAs teach classes on their own, cover planned absences and allow teachers time to plan and mark.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver high-quality lessons and support materials.
  • Assist students with various special educational needs, adapting your approach to meet their individual requirements.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Support students during break and lunchtimes, ensuring their safety and engagement in appropriate activities.

Qualifications:

A minimum of HLTA qualification or equivalent. This can be done with the school for the right person so don’t let this stop you from applying!

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on students' lives.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
