Advanced Practitioner - Safeguarding and Care Planning

Location: Oldham

Salary: Up to £48,474 with a £2,000 retention payment

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid working available



We are seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join our dedicated team, focusing on safeguarding and care planning. This role is integral to supporting staff and managing a caseload of complex and challenging cases. The successful candidate will be instrumental in promoting a learning culture, providing technical advice, and driving continuous professional development within the team.

Day to Day of the Role:

Lead and co-work on complex and sensitive cases, ensuring high-quality service delivery and chairing multi-agency meetings as needed.

Deliver group supervision within the team, provide reflective supervision, and mentor colleagues, particularly those in their first year as qualified social workers.

Support the team manager in interpreting quality assurance feedback and data, and drive practice improvement plans.

Play a key role in leading the implementation of Systemic Practice, developing curiosity, an outcome and impact focus, and relationship-based work with families.

Use quality assurance tools to drive improvements for children, ensuring staff are continually developing and motivated.

Review work such as assessments and plans, providing direction to staff to address any gaps and improve quality.

Maintain accurate records and support the team in managing workloads effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

A Social Work degree or equivalent recognised qualification, e.g., DipSW.

Registration with Social Work England.

Post Qualifying Training.

Experience in motivating and supporting staff and managing complex cases.

Proficiency in using electronic systems for maintaining records.

Ability to critically analyse and reflect on interventions with children and families.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and national guidelines connected with service delivery in social work.

Driving Licence or ability to travel independently across the Borough of Oldham.
