Ackerman Pierce is currently seeking a dedicated Child Protection Advanced Practitioner to join the dynamic team at Leeds City Council. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work on a temporary basis, with competitive pay rates of £40 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake complex assessments and investigations in cases of child protection concerns, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children at all times.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to social work colleagues, offering consultation and advice on complex cases and contributing to professional development.
  • Lead multi-agency meetings and case conferences, working collaboratively with partner agencies to develop and implement comprehensive child protection plans.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff, providing coaching and supervision to support their professional growth and development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders, including legal professionals, health professionals, and educational providers, to coordinate effective support services for children and families.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience working within child protection and safeguarding services, with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
  • Proven ability to undertake complex assessments and manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective working relationships with children, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the confidence to provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.
