REED Further Education is currently looking to recruit an Advanced Science Teacher to join an FE College in Middleton/Rochdale.

You will be delivering inspirational Teaching, Learning and Assessment across a wide range of courses for Applied Science at BTEC Level 2 & 3.

As an Advanced Lecturer, you will be the Lead IV (Internal Verifier) for the Science Department and will need to be a qualified IQA. You will work closely with the programme manager helping with the continual improvement of the science department. Ideally, you will have a strong knowledge of Chemistry.

Pay Rate: £42,477

Hours: Full-time

DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Planning of quality lessons within the Curriculum area.
  • 21 hours per week teaching/delivery
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Assessments for BTEC
  • Managing learners to hit targets and achieve their potential
  • Promote and participate in the delivery of Basic / Key Skills
  • Contribute to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum in the College

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Level 5 Teaching Qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed or equivalent)
  • Degree (or equivalent) in relevant Subject
  • IQA Qualification
  • Ability to teach Applied Science / Chemistry at BTEC Level 2 & 3
  • Experience delivering Lecturers to 16-18-year-olds in Further Education
  • Safeguarding knowledge and understanding
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage well with learners.
  • Current Clear & Enhanced DBS on the update service (Beneficial)
