Job Title: Adult Social Care Lawyer

Location: Greater London

Working Pattern: Part Time (22hrs per week) – Hybrid Working 1 day per week Office Attendance

Rate: £50 umbrella per hour

Venn Group’s specialist public sector legal team are in partnership with a Local Authority in Greater London to recruit an Adult Social Care Lawyer on a part time basis to help with an increase in workload

The role of Adult Social Care Lawyer is offered on a 3 month basis but owing to the nature is looking to extend on a rolling basis thereafter. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Adult Social Care Lawyer to establish themselves within a fledgling legal team and become integral to the Council

 The ideal candidate for this role will be a Qualified Barrister, Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a proven tack record of successfully managing Adult Social Care legal matters within Local Government

Duties shall include:

1. Provide comprehensive legal services, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters
2. Offer expert advice on legal matters, responding proactively to potential judicial review threats
3. Handle applications in the Court of Protection and County Court displacement proceedings, ensuring legal accuracy and compliance
4. Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings and statements, addressing diverse issues within social care functions
5. Advise officers on service development, ensuring lawful implementation of changes in service delivery, with a focus on compliance with the public sector equality duty
