Admissions Officer - Apprenticeships and Partnerships

Part time - 3 full days a week and can be flexible on days.

Salary - £14.00 - £16.00 per hour 

Duration: 3 months 

Sitting at the heart of the applicant journey, the admissions officer provides a first-class customer experience to those seeking to become a student with the Institute and to de-mystify the application process. Acting as a primary point of contact for applicants to their Apprenticeship provision, you will work closely with academic colleagues to make accurate admissions decisions within agreed service levels. This role will also work closely with a wide range of educational partners to support the applicant journey.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

  • To take responsibility for all aspects of the admissions process for the apprentice and partner programmes and to ensure an effective and productive working relationship with colleagues within those areas.
  • To action, throughout the Admissions process, all types of student applications, for example apprenticeship, initial teacher education and other partner applications, across all markets providing clerical support as needed.
  • To be responsible for the creation and accuracy of applicant and application records on the BUD and partner information systems, including applicant details and offer information.
  • To manage and maintain application routes for a portfolio of courses, process review and data transfer to BUD and partner information systems.
  • To develop and maintain an understanding of UK and overseas qualifications, including English language qualifications, for entry to courses, and a working knowledge of issues around fraudulent applications, and to take responsibility for ensuring that all required checks are carried out as appropriate for the designated courses.
  • To be responsible for the scheduling and implementation of interviews and selection days where required through in liaison with Programme Leaders.
  • To prepare documents required for interview, issue interview Invites, offer letters and any other necessary correspondence to applicants and stakeholders, as required.
  • To deal with telephone enquiries, email, written enquiries and walk-ins from prospective applicants, offering detailed advice on application procedures and entry requirements.
  • To carry out fees assessments to ensure applicants are classified in the correct fee category and to liaise with colleagues to ensure ESFA compliance.
  • To represent the Institute on selected events such as interview days, promotional events or similar, providing support to ensure high levels of customer service to potential applicants.
  • To work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent, effective and customer focussed service is offered to all applicants and that all key information is provided at appropriate points.
