This friendly local accountancy practice acts for a wide-ranging client base of varying sectors and turnover size. As a result of ongoing growth, an opportunity is available for the right Accounts Technician / Bookkeeper to join the team. Full time or part time working hours can be explored, flexible hours also considered.

The Responsibilities

• You will take responsibility for as much of the following as you have experience of / are comfortable with; accounts prep, personal tax returns, VAT calculations, general bookkeeping, payroll and other services for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships, corporate and personal tax among other responsibilities.
• Alongside providing a quality compliance service, you will have opportunity for increasing client contact and responsibility with the aim of looking to build relationships with clients. The firm operates an open-door policy and has a huge presence supporting the local businesses and community, which means clients often pop in with questions.

The Candidate

• You may be studying or AAT qualified or be qualified by experience to date.
• You will have a background working within an accountancy practice.
• You will have a broad experience covering year end accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, VAT etc and be looking to find a new friendly, loyal employer where you can become a key, long term addition to a successful team.
• You will need to be technically astute. Experience of Sage, Sage payroll, Xero, Keytime and Quickbooks would be advantageous. Knowledge of Brightpay would also be desirable as there are considerations for a migration to this software in the new future.
• You will need to have clear communication skills across all means available and be comfortable with clients popping into the office.
