Role: Accounts Senior

Location: Brighton

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Overview

Minimum 4 years’ experience

Experience in small/medium accountancy practice.

Experience mostly on OMB’s.

Possibly qualified

(or finalist - study support available)

or qualified by experience.

Specific Technical Experience Requirements

Annual accounts and corporation tax preparation (to completion)

Involvement in audits preferred but not essential.

VAT returns

Company Secretarial (Annual Statements, changes, documentation)

Knowledge of current accounting packages

Knowledge of IRIS (not essential if alternative)

Some knowledge of VAT/returns

Some knowledge of Payroll

Experience of salary/dividend planning

Some knowledge of Income Tax Returns

Assisting clients on management accounts/bookkeeping/reviews

Experience of non-company accounts

HMR&C/ROC filing experience.

Personal Skills

Good technical knowledge and commercial awareness

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Maintaining and building client relationships

Good organisational/administration skills

Attention to detail.

Ability to - work on own initiative

- work as part of a team

Eagerness to progress

Experience of supervising/training junior staff

Experience of delegating

Experience of reviewing work prepared by others.

Professional manner and appearance

Ability to work to deadlines.

Good time management skills

Proactive approach to work

Reside - in commuting distance.
