Company Details and Job Overview:

Kenton Black Finance are recruiting on behalf of a business in Carlisle that have been operating for over 75 years. This company are recruiting for a full-time and permanent Accounts Payable Controller who will be an important member of a small team. The role of Accounts Payable Controller will be responsible for receiving and processing purchase invoices, dealing with supplier queries as well as preparing payment files.

Your New Job as the Accounts Payable Controller:

1. You will be required to upload, register, and code invoices on the finance system.

2. Dealing with supplier queries and keeping accounts up-to-date.

3. Using the finance system to ensure budget holders authorise their invoices in a timeous manner with any queries communicated to suppliers.

4. Produce payment files for management authorisation and organise any one off payments

5. Communicate clearly, both by email and telephone with suppliers, contractors, consultants and management.

6. Reconcile supplier statements for the month ensuring figures are updated in time for each month end.

7. Investigate and resolve outstanding creditor items.

8. Ensure AP activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures.

9. Various ad hoc duties from time to time as required within the department.

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

• Should have strong AP experience
• Should have worked on computerised accounting systems and possess good MS Office skills including Excel.
• Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be expected to communicate at several levels throughout the business as well as with suppliers by email and telephone.
• It is also essential that the candidate has high level attention to detail.
