Accounts Payable Clerk

£26k - Plus discretionary bonus

Letchworth - Office Based Role

We are currently recruiting for Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client who is a manufacturing business with their offices based in Letchworth. The role is fully office based and the working hours are Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.00pm.

Are you an Accounts Payable Clerk looking for a new permanent role?

This role is ideal for someone who has office experience, preferably within an accounts payable environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outgoing bills and invoices on behalf of the company. 

You will be responsible for: 

  • Processing and verifying invoices and coding them to the correct cost centres.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Handling payments in an organised and timely manner.
  • Developing and maintaining a filing system for financial information, records and documents to ensure their timely retrieval. 
  • Assisting with month-end closing procedures and audits.
  • Communicating with suppliers and resolving any invoice or payment issues.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of all company payments. 


Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Office experience is essential, with a preference for candidates who have worked in accounts payable.
  • Good understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles. 
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills. 
  • Excellent communication. 
  • Willingness to learn.
