Accounts Officer

This position is for an Accounts Officer who will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the finance team. The role is based in a manufacturing company in Port Talbot and is perfect for those who have a strong accounting background in a similar role.

Description

The Role:

• Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements
• Ensure accuracy of financial data and maintain accurate and up-to-date records
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports
• Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes
• Liaise and collaborate with other departments
• Support with preparation of financial audits and tax returns
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial management

Profile

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in similar role. such as Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant etc.
• IT proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience using an integrated ERP system, such as SAP, preferred
• A solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or engineering, an advantage
