Accounts Manager

An experienced Accountant with a proven track record in practice is needed to join a highly successful and well-regarded professional services business in Exeter as an Accounts Manager.

You’ll be joining a forward-thinking firm with supportive partners and brilliant team/company ethos where you will be in a key management position taking ownership of an established varied client portfolio and team.

As the Accounts Manager, you will be working closely with and supporting the Partners to deliver exceptional client service. You will be taking ownership of a mixed portfolio of clients providing all round accounting services and advice and taking client meetings.

Duties will include:

• Leading, developing and mentoring junior members of staff including those studying, reviewing and signing off on work completed.
• Manage the portfolio to ensure all deadlines are met including organising and overseeing workflow and billing.
• Undertaking complex accounts preparation and tax calculations.
• Dealing with day-to-day client matters and liaise with a partner on general issues and specific one-off projects.
• Involvement and/or managing audit assignments.
• Handling client meetings and queries.
• As well as the opportunity to play a key role in the growth of the client base for the office.

The Person:

We are keen to hear from ACA / ACCA part or fully qualified, (or equivalent) individuals with experience of accounts preparation gained in practice and working knowledge of personal and corporate tax. Audit experience is desirable but not essential.

You will be a self-starter with a proactive approach and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.

You’ll be a first-rate communicator able to build effective relationships and liaise with clients. As you will be managing and providing guidance to less experienced staff, you will possess an approachable and nurturing leadership style.
