Accounts/Audit Manager - Charity & NFP Specialist

Barber McLelland is working in partnership with a leading firm of accountants who are looking to continue the expansion of their service offering to charity sector businesses.

Their work with not-for-profit organisations forms an integral part of the business and they specialise in advising a range of clients in the sector, including grant-making trusts, international charities, educational bodies, academies, membership associations, and many other charities and trusts across the UK.

The national charity and not-for-profit specialists are committed to providing a comprehensive range of audit and accounting services specifically tailored to meet the needs of charities and not-for-profit organisations

We are seeking a passionate Audit Manager with experience with NFP and Charities clients who have the ambition to manage their own department and to become an integral part of our work within the region.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supporting the Partnership group, the role will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing a portfolio of charity and not-for-profit clients
  • Managing the overall service delivery to clients including attending and leading client meetings
  • Executing assurance engagements from planning to completion for statutory reporting
  • Provision of general business advice to clients
  • Manage specialist projects
  • Business development in the charity sector
  • Tendering for new charity and not-for-profit clients
  • Supervision, mentoring and management of audit staff

Skills and Qualities

The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent with at least 6 years experience working with Charity and NFP clients

Due to the nature of the role, individuals will have the personal qualities and confidence to manage a varied client portfolio with differing client needs, along with supporting and mentoring junior staff members.
