I'm currently assisting my client, a leading Lloyd's of London Broker, in finding them a new Accounts Associate in the sunny town of Brighton. They are a superb employer and offer amazing training and development. The successful candidate will be within the Insurance Broking Accounting (IBA) Team. Experience with IBA is an advantage however is not required. You will not be expected to know anything about Insurance and full training is provided. The role will include reconciliation, credit control and multi currency payments.

Summary of the Role

Location: Central Brighton - in very close proximity to Brighton train station
Starting Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience + yearly bonus
Hybrid working: 3 days in the office and 2 days at home

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Reconciliation of debtors, creditors, and cash for a specific book of business
  • Cash input from daily bank downloads into the IBA Accounting platform
  • Cash matching within the IBA Accounting platform in conjunction with client remittances or Divisional instruction
  • Investigation of unmatched cash, raising of queries within the Company or directly with clients
  • Raising of client refund payments and insurer settlements inline with existing processes
  • Insurer liaison, improving relationships and reviewing of ongoing processes to mutual benefit of the Company and insurers in relation to IBA practices

Key Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a finance or numerically-focused role, with confidence and ability in compiling and interpreting financial data to facilitate decision making
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including research and investigation
  • Excellent attention to detail
