Accounts Assistant
  • Job Type: Permanent and full-time
  • Location: Bethersden
  • Salary:  £24,000 - £26,000pa
  • Working Arrangements:  Office based

I am seeking an Accounts Assistant with strong bookkeeping skills to join a friendly team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. This role requires a good understanding of VAT and CIS regulations, proficiency in Sage, and a keen eye for detail.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Process and check purchase invoices against PO’s.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and tracking bank account balances.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
  • Complete VAT returns and ensure correct amounts are paid on time.
  • Process CIS returns.
  • Assist with payroll and maintain accurate employee records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage 50.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
