We are working with a City law firm who are seeking an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic Accounts & Finance Team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing firm and make a significant impact in a newly created role.

Role Overview:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the firm. You'll support the Accounts Payable and Legal Cashiering functions, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and firm procedures. This role offers an opportunity for growth and development in a friendly and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

- Assist in staff expenses claims preparation (Chrome River).

- Process supplier purchase invoices and input them into the system (3E), ensuring alignment with purchase orders.

- Communicate with suppliers regarding payments and resolve queries promptly.

- Support payment run processes following established accounts procedures.

- Aid in completing month-end processes.

- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding accounts queries.

- Undertake other ad-hoc duties as required.

Legal Cashiering:

- Maintain client account balances and transactions in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).

- Prepare client fee ledgers accurately.

- Handle disbursement postings, including counsel and expert fees.

- Input client account receipts efficiently.

- Monitor and report any breaches of accounts protocols.

- Contribute to initiatives to enhance cashiering processes.

- Perform other ad-hoc cashiering duties as necessary.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous experience in an accounts assistant role, legal cashiering experience preferred but not required.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Positive attitude and proactive approach.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
