Accounts Assistant
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Thurrock
  • Salary Range: £28,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
  • NO HYBRID

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both purchase and sales ledger processes. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Managing and maintaining the sales ledger, including processing invoices, reconciling invoice discrepancies, and handling customer payment queries.
  • Overseeing the purchase ledger, ensuring timely processing of supplier invoices, and preparing payment runs.
  • Reconciling bank statements and ledger accounts.
  • Assisting with month-end closing procedures and reporting.
  • Collaborating with other departments to improve financial processes and controls.
  • Handling ad-hoc accounting duties and administrative support to the finance team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, particularly with purchase and sales ledger responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
