Accounts Assistant
  • Location: Watford
  • £30-32k depending on experience
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team within a construction company. The role involves managing both purchase and sales ledgers, credit control, and general finance administration. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 5, reporting directly to the Financial Controller.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Handling purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
  • Conducting credit control to ensure timely payments.
  • Performing general finance-related administrative tasks.
  • Resolving financial queries efficiently to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Providing excellent customer service in all finance-related interactions.
  • Utilising Sage 50 and Construct systems for various accounting operations.
  • Collaborating with the finance team to support the Financial Controller.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in finance, particularly within purchase ledger, sales ledger, and credit control.
  • Strong understanding of general finance administration.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to resolve queries effectively.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 and Construct systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with the Financial Controller and other team members.
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
