Accounts Assistant
  • Location: Maidstone
  • Job Type: Temporary, Full-time
  • Availability: Immediate start

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a public sector organisation based in Maidstone on a temporary basis. This role is to cover long-term sickness and requires an individual who is available for an immediate start and possesses a valid driving licence.

Day to day of the role:
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Completing bank reconciliations and processing payroll.
  • Managing ledger entries and overseeing financial transactions.
  • Supporting the finance team with budget preparation and financial reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with public sector financial regulations.
  • Handling queries related to accounts and providing financial information to staff members.
  • Assisting with end-of-month and year-end financial tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
  • Familiarity with public sector accounting practices and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and strong skills in MS Excel.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
