This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain comprehensive experience across both sales and purchase ledgers while working in a fast-paced SME environment. You will work alongside the Head of Finance with the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the company's finance processes.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:

  • Meticulously process supplier invoices in our robust accounting system and prepare comprehensive weekly creditor reports.
  • Maintain the integrity of our financial records through diligent daily bank reconciliations, including for multi-currency transactions.
  • Efficiently manage weekly expense processing, credit card spend, and ensure full compliance with our financial policies.
  • Proactively manage credit control, cash allocations, and prepare detailed weekly reports on our debtor position.
  • Ensure the accuracy and currency of our accounting records through regular ledger account balancing and manual journal entries.
  • Partner with the wider finance team to provide vital support for VAT returns, management accounts, and cash flow reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver timely and insightful financial information and reports to stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of the fixed asset register, ensuring it is accurately maintained.

  • Ideally AAT qualified or can demonstrate at least 2 years' diverse finance experience, preferably within a dynamic SME.
