Accounts & Audit Manager - 60:40 split - ACCA / ACA Qualified
Based in Alton, Hampshire
£45,000 - £70,000

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced and ACCA / ACA qualified Accounts and Audit Manager to join an SME accountancy practice in Alton, Hampshire.

This will be a blended role with a 60:40 split of accounts & audit work. You will be responsible for reviewing the audit work and managing a small number of senior audit staff as well managing a portfolio of accounts clients. Focus will predominantly be on the accounts service line with the option to transition fully into a pure accounts role over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse a portfolio of local clients, ensuring excellent service delivery and building strong client relationships.
  • Provide expert advice on accounting, taxation, and financial matters to clients.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory accounts, tax returns, and other compliance-related documents.
  • Keep abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure clients remain compliant.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and advise clients on strategic financial decisions.
  • Collaborate with our small but dedicated team, fostering a positive working environment and contributing to the collective success of the practice.
  • Oversee the Audit Seniors who will be carrying out the hands on audit work.
  • Ensure that all audit work is completed to deadlines and that compliance and due diligence has been carried out.
  • Review final audit work and sign off.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACCA/ ACA qualification is preferred but nearly qualified candidates will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice.
  • Recent experience working in a UK accountancy practice is essential.
  • Experience working in a blended audit & accounts role
  • Experience mentoring junior staff or managing a team would be beneficial.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
