Grafton Banks Finance are delighted to be assisting a rapidly growing business in East Sussex for the hire of an Accountant. This role would be sitting within a team of 9, where you you'll be supporting with the day to day running of the team, completing all the necessary transactional, reporting and analysis based work. They are currently going through a recruitment drive and are requiring someone at the PQ/QBE level, who can support the businesses growth. The company has seen good levels of growth, so this would be an excellent opportunity to work alongside an established successful business.

  • Manage, support & develop an accounts team of 9 with 3 direct reports 
  • Preparation and review of accounts for multiple companies
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliation's 
  • Involved with preparing, reviewing and submission of monthly VAT returns for multiple companies
  • Posting of journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Develop and improve accounting systems, processes and reporting 
  • Variance analysis and commentary of results on a monthly basis
  • Assist in the year end audit and liaise with external auditors

The successful candidate will have practical work experience within a finance function and/ or actively studying towards ACCA/CIMA, or whom is QBE. You will need to have strong IT skills including experience of working with accounting packages and Excel ( Microsoft packages). Working in a small finance team you will need to have strong communication skills both verbal and written to be able to communicate effectively across the business. You will also need to be able to multi task and work under pressure on busy working days and tight deadlines.
