Working for a Head of Finance, who is new to the role, you will assist him in building an effective and strong team which will deliver the practice's objectives and create a positive, forward thinking environment. The key aspects to this role are as follows:
  • Managing a portfolio of c.100 clients, primarily SME owner managers
  • Varied aspects of work for the above encompassing year end accounts, VAT Compliance, personal and corporation tax
  • Managing client expectations
  • Successful delegation of work to the team along with mentoring the team to achieve their goals
  • Reviewing the team's work
  • Involvement in bringing in new clients
Ideally you will have come from a practice background and be either qualified or a finalist for this Accountant role, but you must want to develop your career and the Head of Finance, who trained with one of the Big Four, is happy to devote time to making sure you progress.  You must also have good technical knowledge and an awareness of Xero and Excel.

Benefits for this Accountant role include 25 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays rising to 30 days over a period of time, potentially another four days holiday depending on performance, hybrid working, and introductory bonus scheme for introducing new clients, which amounts to 5% of fees in the first year after the client joins, life assurance at 3 times salary.
