Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading and rapidly growing Global Medical organization to recruit a dynamic, driven, and experienced Accountant based in their Hereford, Herefordshire office. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller this is a varied role involving preparing/analysing financial information, balance sheet processes, management accounting preparation, stock processes, costing process and supporting junior finance team members. Your new role


Key duties will involve preparing monthly management accounts in accordance with group reporting timetables, performing analysis to understand results and trends, to support the understanding of gross margins. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, along with maintaining/reconciling various reports, funds, and accounts balances. You will produce stock reconciliations, undertake margin analysis to support the month-end results, support the costing of products and ensure accurate stock costings are in place on the system. You will be involved in cash flow forecasting processes, ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met, including VAT returns for various entities within the Group, and perform reviews of various reconciliations. You will support the drive for continuous improvement projects and controls, various financial analysis as required, ad-hoc financial projects for senior management and assist in developing junior finance team members.


What you'll need to succeed


To be considered for this fast-paced Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position; ACCA/CIMA/ACA part-qualified/qualified or qualified by experience, with strong MS Excel skills and a high level of proficiency with financial systems. You will have strong knowledge of financial and general accounting principles and practices, an ability to work independently, and within a team environment, with strong problem-solving skills. You will have key communication skills to build both internal/external relationships at all levels and be used to working within a fast-paced changing environment. You will be willing to cross train in other areas of finance and support junior finance team members in their development. Experience within acquisition and growing global organisations along with knowledge of GAAP would be advantageous but not essential.

This permanent accountant role offers a salary up to £40,000 per annum + a 10 % annual bonus, based in Hereford, Herefordshire with remote/office hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).
