ACCOUNTANT - 17 MONTH FTC - UP TO £45k - ABINGDON - HYBRID

Robert Half are thrilled to be working with a business in Abingdon that are looking for a full-time Accountant to join the team ASAP for a 17 month FTC until September 2025, offering up to £45k!

Reporting directly to the UK & EMEA Finance Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to oversee the internal and external reporting of the UK subsidiary.

• Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring all month-end duties are performed accurately and on-time.
• Review of balance sheet reconciliations and controls.
• Calculation and posting of monthly tax.
• Liaising with the business to ensure accuracy of Financial Postings.
• Monthly review of P&L with analysis of variances.
• Act as key contact for Internal and External Tax and Treasury activities.
• Other ad hoc requests and support as required.
• Production of the statutory financial statements and supplementary disclosures.
• Preparation of all relevant schedules for the external audit process.
• Responsibility for liaising with external auditors.
• Act as key contact for Tax & Treasury, assisting in the production of affiliate contemporaneous documentation.
• Manage the annual corporation tax return process, liaising with external tax advisors.
• Contribution to Finance-led projects.
• Training and coaching of business users relating to Finance processes and controls.
• Continually review the financial processes to drive simplification.

Experience requiredL

• Have a high level of financial awareness with sustained exposure to an operational finance department.
• Able to network effectively, and form working relationships with and influence non-Finance colleagues.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills will be required to approach problems and situations effectively.
• Have good organisational and prioritising skills with the ability to deliver against deadlines.
• Have good accuracy with a high level of attention to detail.
• Be a self-motivated person, willing to get involved and collaborate in various teams.
