If so, then our Edenbridge based client are looking to hire an interim Accountant to join the team and help support with the client statutory accounts preparation along with some auditing. This role is open as a permanent position, so this could lead to something longer term in the near future.

Our client is a firm of Chartered Accountants who offer accountancy, tax and business consultancy and IT services to many small and medium sized enterprises. As a business, their aim to give only the best service to their clients giving their full attention to customer queries quickly and comprehensively.

Due to business changes this one-of-a-kind practice are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant to carry out day to day accounts preparation, bookkeeping and VAT returns.

Salary: £38,000 - £50,000 depending on experience and training requirements

Location: Edenbridge

Hours: 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday

Start: ASAP

Daily responsibilities could include:

  • Completion of periodic and statutory accounts.
  • Completion of accounts/audit preparation programmes.
  • Completion of money laundering documentation.
  • Ensure correct disclosures in accordance with Companies Acts.
  • Prepare Financial Reporting.
  • Prepare business tax computations (corporate and non corporate).
  • Identify disallowable expenditure.
  • Prepare P11D’s.
  • Assist/prepare draft personal tax computations or returns.

Do you have the relevant skills and experience?

The ideal candidate will have current experience of working within a practice environment and hold strong qualifications to support your experience. You will have advanced knowledge of Account preparation, Audit, Management Accounts, VAT, TAX, CIS, Payroll (in particular) and Bookkeeping. You will be able to work to trial balance and beyond.

The ideal person will be AAT qualified or and possibly ACA or ACCA part qualified with a solid background in accounts preparation gained across a range of business entities. This is a minimal requirement and salary offered will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
