Accountant - 9 month Fixed Term Contract

We are delighted to be representing one of the Cambridge Colleges in their search for an Accountant on a 9 month fixed term contract based on site in Cambridge on a full time basis.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a varied role which has arisen due to a combination of maternity and sickness cover, combined with a number of system changes.

Typical duties include:

  • Various aspects of VAT, including VAT Returns, Capital Goods
  • Cashflow
  • Preparing Management Accounts (likely from April - June)
  • Budgetting and Forecasting
  • Supporting system go live duties
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with Year end tasks
  • Other various project tasks
  • Adhoc duties to support the team

Applications are welcomed from individuals with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Ideally qualified or QBE
  • Education/College experience in accounts would be advantageous
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • IT Literate - Advanced Microsoft Excel would be essential
  • Team player with a flexible attitude
