The firm is dedicated to providing exceptional financial, accountancy and advisory services to clients across various industries. With a commitment to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction, they are expanding their team and seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant/ Accountancy Practice Manager.

As Senior Accountant / Accountancy Practice Manager, you will be joining a thriving accountancy practice. You will be responsible for the operational side of the business, client services, staff management, work flow and task management, financial management, compliance and quality assurance, technology and systems, marketing and business development, training and professional development and risk management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Oversight:

-Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the accountancy practice.
-Training and mentoring of staff
-Reviewing of work (alongside the responsible Director(s))
-Be responsible for the timely delivery of year end accounts, tax returns and VAT returns.
-Ensure efficient workflow and effective utilisation of resources.

Client Services:

-Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing enquiries, and ensuring exceptional client service
-Monitor client satisfaction and implement improvements as needed

Staff Management:

-Supervise and lead a team of accountants, bookkeepers, and administrative staff
-Conduct regular performance reviews (alongside the responsible Director(s)), provide feedback, and facilitate professional development

Workflow & Task Management:

-Allocate work assignments and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
-Ensure the timely completion of projects and deliverables

Financial Management:

-Collaborate with the firm's Partners/ Directors to develop and manage the practice's budget
-Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

-Ensure the practice adheres to all regulatory requirements and industry standards
-Implement and maintain quality control processes to uphold service excellence

Technology & Systems:

-Oversee the implementation and utilisation of accounting software and other technology tools
-Stay informed about advancements in technology relevant to the accountancy field

Marketing & Business Development:

-Collaborate with Partners to develop and implement marketing strategies
-Identify opportunities for business growth and client acquisition

Training and Professional Development:

-Facilitate training sessions for staff to enhance technical and soft skills
-Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations

Risk Management:

-Identify and assess potential risks to the practice and implement mitigation strategies
-Monitor compliance with risk management policies

PERSON SPECIFICATION

-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
-Relevant accountancy qualifications i.e. AAT, ACCA, ACA, QBE etc.
-Proven experience in a managerial role within an accountancy practice
-Strong leadership and organisational skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
-Knowledge of accounting principles and industry regulations
-Familiarity with accounting software and technology tools
-Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
-Problem-solving and decision-making skills
