A Financial Reporting Manager/Senior Manager is being recruited for one of the UK's leading professional services group to be based in their Southampton office. They offer a range of financial and professional services to individuals, trusts, professional intermediaries, charities and businesses.

Management of a small team of focussed and capable individuals, you will have responsibility for ensuring accurate processing of clients' financial date and preparation of annual financial accounts, liaising with the audit team to ensure financial statements are prepared to a high standard and on time. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Management of a portfolio of clients with turnovers of up to £500m including complex financial statements (e.g. consolidations and IFRS)
  • Supporting Business Outsourcing on technical queries, reporting findings and advising as necessary
  • Training and development of junior staff including monitoring performance, carrying out appraisals etc
  • Providing support to other managers within the team
  • Ensuring quality of output is consistently high
  • Liaising with clients
  • Working closely with audit and tax teams to ensure a seamless service to clients
  • Sharing ideas to improve efficiencies


Suitable Candidates

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
  • Strong academics and experience from within either audit or financial reporting from another large professional services firm
  • Knowledge of accounting standards IFRS/FRS 102 and Companies Act
  • Experience of cloud-based software, CCH, Caseware and MS Excel
  • Results orientated to meet/exceed expectations and delivery of high quality work
  • Ability to manage and develop more junior staff
