Our client, a hugely successful record label specialising in copyright free music, is seeking an expert A&R Manager to oversee the A&R team’s activities. The role offers WFH on Mondays and Fridays.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Managing the A&R team.

· Executing a competitive strategy in artist signings with the team, and working with the Head of Music regarding new music signing decisions.

· Identifying and nurturing emerging and established artists.

· Developing a strong artist roster.

· Taking responsibility for the A&R budget for acquiring new music.

· Negotiating high-priority deals for new artist signing and existing roster deals.

· Working with the marketing team to identify priorities.

· Setting clear expectations with artists and fostering good communication.

· Maintaining an accurate awareness of market trends and the company’s audience niche.

Requirements:

· Proven track record in prospecting artists.

· Existing network of high-level artists, writers, and producers.

· Substantial experience working at a music company, record label, management company, or music publisher.

· Knowledge of the music industry, label competitors, and the company’s genre.

· Possess an understanding of music rights, recording and publishing agreements, and copyright.

· Able to maintain positive relationships with artists, songwriters, layers, and external partners.

· Experience managing a team.

· Able to negotiate and resolve disputes in a professional setting.

· Content to work independently and use organisational skills to manage workload.

· Able to work to deadlines under time pressure.
