Accounts Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hardworking Accounts Assistant to join one of the UK’s leading Cash & Carries. As part of the Finance Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business through a period of growth, supplying a diverse clientele from independent retailers to prestigious hotels, restaurants, clubs, and pubs.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Answering the telephone and being the first point of contact for finance-related queries.
  • Processing and matching invoices, controlling invoice errors, and ensuring goods are invoiced correctly.
  • Conducting supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies using internal systems.
  • Preparing payment runs and matching direct debits.
  • Banking cheques and reconciling vouchers for posting.
  • Cross-posting between suppliers and sales ledger accounts using Excel.
  • Providing reception cover as needed.
  • Performing general administrative duties, including the use of Word, Excel, and various databases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and a good standard of numeracy.
  • A-Level or equivalent qualification is preferred.
