Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary 16-19yrs Advisor to work in Oxford. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying £23.63 (paid to you via an umbrella company). The working hours are Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm. 

The role:

To work with a caseload of 16-19-year-old migrant young people in Oxfordshire.  This work to include one-to-one and group information, advice and guidance sessions that are appropriate to learner needs and action plan accordingly. 

Areas are likely to include academic pathways, 16-19-year-old curriculum options, employability, UCAS, CV development, support for progression to College and university, employment and apprenticeships, interview preparation, and signposting to internal teams and external agencies that can provide further support as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To hold 1:1 and group sessions offering information, advice and guidance appropriate to migrant 16-19-year-olds.
  • To produce action plans for employability.
  • To organise support sessions for UCAS applications, CV development and interview preparation, 16-19 year-old curriculum options, support for progression to university, a good understanding of the university requirement for migrant students in the UK to have gained a professional English language qualification eg IELTS, employment and apprenticeships, including signposting to internal teams and external agencies that can provide further support as required.
  • To facilitate drop-in sessions and workshops, as well as small group sessions and larger presentations across Oxfordshire relating to all aspects of academic progression, careers education and topics around personal development and progression.
  • To effectively utilise IT systems for administrative duties, such as recording and tracking all interactions with young people, as well as providing information, advice and guidance via  e-resources such as email, phone and social media as appropriate.
  • To liaise with schools' Head of Sixth Forms and Further Education College Careers Guidance teams to gain an up-to-date knowledge of career pathways and progression, entry qualifications and timescales for courses delivered in schools, sixth form and universities.
  • Knowledge of Raising the Participation Age (RPA).

Qualifications:

      N/A. 

Experience: Previous experience of supporting 16-19-year-olds in their academic, university, career progression.

Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
